2012 EMMY AWARDS
We’ve had the Oscars and the Golden Globes and last night Sunday 23rd September the Emmy’s took place and once again the red carpet does not disappoint, with mixture of designers and celebrities, from subtle to outrageous, it was another successful night in fashion.
My favourite was Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier wearing one of the favourite colours of the evening she stood out for me. The high neck and below the knee dip hem she looked extremely elegant, and the close toe red and gold shoes worked perfectly.
Because the dress was such a statement in itself and had such a pattern she didn’t need to add accessories as that would have over done it, so by just wearing stud earrings and a silver clutch she really made the outfit work.
When she first cut her hair short, I had my doubts, but tonight she looks flawless and was for me the best dressed of the night.
Second in my opinion was Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa’s 2013 collection, rocking a kind of sari-esque look, I would usually put blue and gold together but this dress is beautiful, and I think that putting her hair up was a fabulous idea as it really shows of the back of her dress and how much of a masterpiece it is, kind of reminds me of Lea Michelle in Marchesa at the 2012 Golden Globes however that dress was metallic silver. Not over doing it with the make-up, going for a more natural look and wearing subtle jewellery, I think the way Hayden worked this dress and accessorised it was perfection.
Sarah Hyland is a little star already, known for her role in Modern Family, but she should now add ‘fashion designer’ to her résumé after co-designing her beautifully elegant Marchesa dress. The cream colour really complimented her skin tone and the lace detail on the shoulders and sides really added something to the dress, she very rarely goes wrong on the red carpet, and this is another example of her getting it 100% right.
Emilia Clarke looked sweet in Chanel the white dress with purple embodiment was beautiful, I personally would have worn a peep toe shoe instead of a closed toe, but that is my only fault.
